What is Levaquin?

Levaquin belongs to fluoroquinolones medications. The cure is prescribed for treating various bacterial infections in the organism. It is applied for skin, bladder, kidneys, sinuses, prostate infections. It can be also prescribed to cure infections, leading to pneumonia or bronchitis. Those, who were exposed to plague or anthrax, can also be given the medication. Your doctor may indicate the medication for some other aims, not mentioned here or in the medication guide.

Important Information

If you suffer from muscle disorder, you’ll not be able to use it. If you have myasthenia gravis medical history, tell your HCP. Generic Levaquin can lead to tearing or swelling of a tendon. Achilles’ tendon of the heel is the most susceptible for this. This may likely happen, if you are older than 60 and are taking some of steroid drugs. If you have experienced lung, heart or kidney transplant your chances are also high.  If you notice the following, stop taking the cure:

- tenderness
- problems with movements
- abrupt pain
- swelling
- bruising
- stiffness

Before Drug Taking

As for plague and anthrax, the studies were conducted only on animals, because they cannot be studied on human creatures. Who can take the drug?

Common side effects: insomnia, dizziness, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, headache. One can experience low blood pressure, if the medication is given too fast with IV injection. If you notice dizziness or faint during the injection, tell your doctor about it. 

How to take the drug?
